Acid/LSD
LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide), also known as LSD-25, lysergide and acid is a hallucinogen drug. It is known for having psychological effects which can alter the thinking process, visualisations, synaesthesia and time change. It’s main use as a recreational drug particularly playing a big role in the 1960s.
LSD was first create by Albert Hofmann in 1938 who used a chemical called ergotamine derived from ergot a grain fungus that grows on rye. In 1947, Sandoz Laboratories produced the drug which was used as a therapeutic agent. However in the 1960s the drug became prohibited due to the excessive use by youth culture.
Pure LSD is white, odourless powder that can be dissolved in water. In most cases it is mixed with other substances and packaged. The most common form is on blotting paper, this is then taken orally.
